Why I write

I discovered my love and ability of creating with words while at University (not studying creative writing!). However, it took a whole heap of courage to actually put those words into print. I know imagination is a gift; without it the world would be a very dull place indeed. I didn’t realise how important my imagination would be until I needed a place to escape from the stresses and pressures of being in the real world. I find hope when the lives of fictional characters can overcome the largest barriers. I write because I think everyone needs alternative worlds, eras and dimensions to disappear into for a while.
